Boudoir
Why Boudoir?
I started in Boudoir Photography early on in my photography journey: Within my first few months behind the camera my sister in law asked if I could do a boudoir session with her as an anniversary gift. I didn't have the the equipment - I didn't have lighting and I had a beginner model camera. I didn't have the experience - the knowledge of posing or angles. I didn't even have a space set up for that type of shoot. But from the first snaps of the camera I fell in LOVE.
I loved that I was able to capture the natural beauty of my sister. I loved that I help her see herself the way others see her. I loved that from the first moment I showed her a photo on the back of the camera that she squealed in delight and couldn't believe that the person on the screen was really her! From that moment on, I was hooked!

Boudoir quickly became my favorite photography style. If I could help women love their bodies, love themselves, and feel beautiful in the process this was the type of photography I wanted to focus on. I wanted to be able to offer everyone the chance to have that experience - so I went to work, I learned and I practiced and I grew as a photographer until I came to where I am now: offering boudoir sessions as part of my regular portfolio.
What can I expect at a boudoir shoot?
At A Treasured Moment Photography I prioritize making each and every boudoir shoot unique and comfortable. I have yet to meet a client who was not at least a little bit nervous at the thought of their first boudoir shoot. However, once we get going, they quickly realize how fun and relaxed these session can be.

So what should you expect? First of all, expect a fun time with a photographer who wants to make you look and feel your very best. Everyone, and I mean everyone, feels a little awkward and silly getting into poses and trying to "be sexy." I can promise however, that I will never tell you "be sexy" and give you no further instruction. Expect, instead, a guided photoshoot with working through posing and looks together to give you a great personalized experience.

What about outfits? What should I wear?
Boudoir is a personalized experience, everyone's style and personal comfort level is different! Some women feel the most sexy in a matching bra and panties set, others feel good in lingerie, and others may prefer to use their partners shirt or other articles of clothing. No matter what your style, I can guarantee you will look and feel great! Upon booking, you will be sent a boudoir questionnaire so I can find out a little bit more about you and what you expect from your session and photos.
Do you provide hair and makeup services or outfit consultations?
Depending on how extensive you want your session I do have a hair and makeup artist I work with as part of my full experience boudoir session, but most of my clients choose to do a standard session and provide their own hair and make-up. Either way, the ball is totally in your court based on what you want and feel most comfortable with!

I can advise you on which outfits you would like to wear for your session. If you are unsure- bring options, additionally I do have a boudoir selection of over 35 outfits available for clients to peruse in a variety of size XS-2X..

Boudoir FAQ
Do I have to show a lot of skin to do boudoir?
~No, you should wear whatever makes you feel sexy, confident, and beautiful. Everyone has a different level of comfort when in comes to how much skin to show. Whatever you are comfortable with we can use to make beautiful images.

Can I show a lot of skin if I want to?
~ As I mentioned above, this experience is about showing off your best you and helping you embrace your beauty! That being said, I have done shoot from very minimal skin to full sheet sets, to artful nudes and I encourage you to share any preferences you have for your shoot! In your boudoir questionnaire I send after the contract is complete I ask about your level exposer you are comfortable with and that helps me tailor your session experience.

How much editing do you do?
~ I believe that the true boudoir experience should make you feel good about yourself as you are! While I do basic editing: color correcting, cropping, play with lighting/exposer, etc... I do not manipulate your body. I do not remove stretch marks or airbrush away extra pounds because you don't need it! Your body works hard for you, it keeps you going, gets you to work, loves, and feels strongly. My job is to help you love your body and to be proud of it! Each and every image you see is you - no improvement necessary.

I have some parts of my body I am uncomfortable with - how do you deal with that?
~ Everyone has parts of their body they would like to change. Outfit choices, posing, lights and shadows and the use of props can all help hide the things you don't feel the most comfortable about yourself while accentuating all your favorite features.

Do you have experience with different body types?
~Yes! I absolutely do! If you go through my private boudoir portfolio you will see that I have worked with women of all shapes and sizes and each and every one of them is absolutely beautiful!

Do you have any suggestions for outfits?
~ My number one suggestion is that you find things that make you feel good! If you are planning on using multiple outfits I always suggest starting in the one you are most comfortable with and working your way up to the more intimate/revealing outfits as the session progresses if that is the route you choose to take. You will relax and gain confidence as the shoot goes on so save the best for last!

Will you help me with posing? I don't know what to do!
~Not to worry! you will be guided through the entire session!

Where do you shoot?
~I just opened a studio space in June of 2022 and I love the images we are producing! Check out my updated portfolio for examples! Previously, I've done boudoir sessions in rented studio spaces, Air BNB's, clients homes or private outdoor locations depending on what each client is looking for. Locations can be requested by clients and we will work together to find the perfect spot for you!

Do you take payments if I can't afford everything upfront?
~Yes, I work very hard to accommodate the needs of people from all different walls of life and financial situations. I believe that everyone deserves the chance to get great photos and I am happy to work with you after your initial booking deposit is paid. *Note some specials and promotions may be exempt from payment options.

Do you photograph couples boudoir?
~Yes! I love the experience of working with couples sharing personal moments together! Love is love and I work with couples of all kinds. There is no additional fee to include your partner. Pricing is broken down by session length and number of images.

What if I want prints? Do you have recommendations? Can I get an album?
~ Absolutely! Each shoot comes with a print release so if you choose to print on your own you can! If ordering with me, I print professional albums from a nationally recognized, professional print shop with a strong privacy policy that is only available to business photographers. I currently have 4 album levels I offer along with custom options based on your wants/needs/price point! I'm happy to work with you to come up with the perfect package for you!

~Can I see more examples of your work before I decide to book?
